Will be interesting if we see Byram play again, for the third time in a week, looks like the lb slot is between him and Mclean, as we didn't get anything in before the transfer window shut. I shouldn't imagine there will be too many changes, though it would be nice to see a bit more of Sara and Idah.

Coventry sit bottom of the league with 1 point, albeit having played 3 games less than everyone else, due to their bizarre pitch issues, so I am expecting our 5th win on the bounce here, and if results go our way, to go top of the league.

I agree that it'd be good to see more of Idah, I'm not sure about Sara, not been overly impressed with him so far but with minutes on the pitch he may well show what he's about.

Cov are a conundrum, they had more shots etc whilst losing to Hull than we did. I get the impression that they try to play football rather than defend deep & hoof on the break, I'm which case we'll best them because we should be better footballers.
However, Robins might change tactics for our game.
We should get 3 points, depending on Cov's tactics, it might be a late winner.

Interesting game, a fair few things to unpack here. The most important thing is we have won 5 in a row, and we are top of the league. Technically nothing else actually matters.

We can talk about the quality of the opposition all day if we like, but you can only beat what is in front of you, and we could easily win this league by beating everyone, and losing to Watford and Burnley.

It is difficult to put your finger on the overall mood, did we do enough to win the game, or should we have done a lot more, and made it look easier? I would say that Coventry had a spell in the second half, ultimately without really damaging us in any way, but you would expect them to. I felt to a certain extent that we were happy to let them have the ball in front of us, and in some ways wait for them to make the mistake, especially when Onel came on, and we had a pacey outlet. I see lots of folk actually a bit disappointed with the performance, which I find strange, considering we won the game 3 nil, and we are top of the league.

Great use of subs again, we have so much quality that we can bring on against tired legs, and Dean really is employing it well. Hanley was excellent, Todd, a bit of a Marmite player, was good, for me, I like what he brings. Kenny had a decent game, Nunez, good, but maybe not his best. Sargent good, but better when he is through the middle, Teemu very good, in a slightly different role, but still showing he has a lot of guile at this level. Ramsey showed he is a real asset, as a loan player.

Frankly, we are just way too good for this division, but will be very interesting to see how we fare against the next 3 teams, but I genuinely think we are heading in the right direction.

It wasn't exactly a 4-4-2 as some people thought, it was a bit odd, it was like he was the central striker, but actually played slightly deep, almost further back than Sargent at times. Feels like his role in the team is definitely changing, we actually originally signed him as a 10.

There is a lot of discussion going on about an apparent apathy that has befallen a lot of our supporters. The atmosphere was a bit flat in places yesterday, and a lot of people seem a bit "meh" even though we won. Various theories being bandied around including, the fans won't sing as they don't like Dean Smith, we have actually forgotten how to enjoy winning, and perhaps the hopelessness of getting promoted, as we know what happens after.

That's what I've been meaning, Webber et al don't convince me that they've a sensible plan in place for the Premier League.
At least, and I'm going to be controversial here, Smith has moved up a level from Farke with the pressing and defensive blocking.
That's going to help in every League, obviously we've got to keep practicing and perfecting it yet, we've got the rest of this season to do so.
Will be interesting to see what the first 11 looks like when everyone is fit eventually, and then to see whether the January transfer window actually strengthens sufficiently for the Premier League or if we revert to 'one for the future'

I can't help feeling that this may have a good deal to do with it. If I'm completely honest, I see no point in promotion to have another humiliation heaped on us, which will surely happen without some huge changes within the club, which I don't believe will happen.

I was unable to be at the match but my friend who was said that where he sits in The Barclay people around him were 'moaning' about the possibility of promotion and were secretly hoping we don't achieve it. I get that. Last season was awful, probably the worst in terms of performances and results while the atmosphere at some games towards the end of the season was pretty foul. The only games I personally enjoyed were v Southampton, v Everton and v Burnley. This season I am generally enjoying going to games and seeing some half-decent football and results, even though we can still be unconvincing at times. My philosophy is enjoy it while it lasts and don't think about the PL and all the rubbish that goes with it. I quite like the EFL as it feels like 'proper' football and not the over-hyped stuff that is the PL. I agree with Number 9 re the pressing and defensive blocking. Hanley in particular has improved re blocking enormously. The match v Burnley later this week will be a real indicator of where we are as Burnley are a decent side, the best we will have faced so far. If we can perform well and nick a point (or 3) I will be happy ... shame those 'moaning' people in The Barclay appear not to want to enjoy it as well.

I find the behaviour odd. If you aren't enjoying it, just don't go.
