Great overall performance.

Jerome had a great game and Morty, in terms of chances today, he only really had 2, 1 hit the post and the other was a goal. 

Oliveira tends to need just as many chances, although thats partly through him opting for long range shots, somewhat unnecessarily.

Think this run of games has seen Jerome improve game on game. Maddison too.

Just think, we still have a fit Oliviera and Pritchard to come into this team yet...

By virtue of the way we are playing, and the fact we don't have as many goals from midfield as we did last season, I don't think its unreasonable to want him to be more be clinical. Lets be clear here, I am a huge fan, and can definitely appreciate what Cam brings to the team, but being a lone striker there is a huge responsibility on him, and lets face it, he has never really been composed in front of goal. I guess I am frustrated on his behalf.

Oh definitely no arguments, but I thought the ref was pretty inconsistent, there were a few Reading players already on a yellow that committed fouls that were definitely deserving of a second one.

I'd agree with that, did seem like he didn't want to send anyone off, until he was left with no choice, I think we'd of all been a lot angrier at watkins if we didn't go on to win the game

He was on twitter afterwards holding his hands up saying it was a daft tackle. But I can't be too down on him, it wasn't malicious, just badly timed. Plus I think we make a lot more tackles than we used to, everyone is keen to break down opposition play, and unfortunately these things happen sometimes.

It was a very good header indeed. That's where Cam is good - when he doesn't have time to think about it.

It could still have gone flying over the bar from where he was, but he kept it down, and got a lot of power behind it to beat the keeper.  Good goal imo.

Cam frustrates me. I am a massive fan, but for his sake, and all of ours, I really wish he was more clinical in front of goal. I love everything he does for the team, always have done, but the system now means that he is going to get far fewer chances than he has in previous ones, so he literally has to be playing at 105% to get his goal. Which is fine if he can maintain that.

He used to be a super sub. When he came on, lots of direct running and shooting early, more often than not, scoring a winner or equaliser.

He's been asked to do a different job in past seasons, with the focus on keeping defence busy and holding up the ball while the runners from midfield got forward.That's been to the detriment of goals scored.

I'm a fan of keeping it simple, not over thinking or trying to be too clever.

To win the game, you just need to score a goal, no extra points available for scoring a perfect goal with all 11 players having a touch and your number 10 stroking the ball into the top corner after 25 passes with the "Ole's" ringing out from four corners of the stadium.

Let's enjoy Madders free kick, which gets better each time I see it, but also a scrappy back post header after a little 'chat' with a big lump of defender.

I don't mind how he scores but I'd rather that was a priority over running around being busy.

Hopefully, now that we appear to have made great strides with the defence, we will now start to see some more attacking intent, particularly at home, so that he and whatever other striker we play this season does get more chances, as that, I feel will be the difference between a decent season and a play-off spot.

I don't mind if we win every game one nil, but I do worry that with so few chances, we are walking a fine line.

Problem is, whilst finishing is in Oliveira's favour, choosing him is likely to result in less chances anyway, and on top of that he ends up with a similar strike rate by trying a 30 yard strike more often than not which, no matter who you are, has a low success rate.
