I wouldn't say they're dominating midfield but they're getting some really nice passes to the front two.

Somebody please explain how Leicester have two up front but are dominating midfield.
Apparently we've had 66% of the possession we just can't deal with how good Leicester are on the break when they have possession.

That Danny Drinkwater is spraying some beautiful passes around, he's a Man Utd youth product isn't he? Got a bit of Scholes/Carrick/Fox about him.

Also, Tettey has had a shocking half, Hoolahan is getting outmuscled, and Howson has given the ball away several times. Just a woeful half from us really.

Wouldn't be against to some half time substitutions, hope they get a bit of the hairdryer treatment from Alex Neil.

I think Nathan has to come on to the right and Wes has to be sacrificed. It isn't his game today. Their back four and midfield are compressed and he is facing his own goal all the time. Howson has to be in the middle I feel and that way Jerome might get some support.

Leicester down to 10 men as they've used all their subs if Vardy can't carry on. Hope they don't try and crock one of ours to even things out, we've used all of ours too haven't we?

That game was a bit of a wake up call, in the first half they "did a Norwich" on us really by pressing high up the pitch. Seems that what works for us is also what works against us.

The big positive is Mbokani who on that showing looks to be our best striker.

Manager got it wrong.
I think you are right. Maybe we take it for granted but as Trevor Francis said today he was playing in Scotland this time last year. I think he was caught out by playing Howson on the right and Redmond on the bench. Second half with the changes produce an exciting match which is all you can ask for. First half was far too predictable.

Leicester just looked a lot more organised than us, held a good solid defensive shape and looked to play us on the break, we are actually quite easy and predictable to defend against, 1 up top and 1 supporting from behind, Huth and Morgan were never going to be too fazed by that being 2 big units that they are,

it made them a lot less comfortable when we had 2 big target men up top and were launching balls into the box, had we started with a 4-4-2 and approached the game the same as we did in the last half hour I think we would of gotten at least a point from the game

A very poor lacklustre first half performance ultimately cost us. Second half was better, particularly once Mbokani was introduced, however we didn't really do enough overall to justify a result. Leicester were very well organised defensively and really difficult to break down, and were a constant threat going forwards, often breaking with pace with Vardy and Schlupp which we really struggled to deal with. The atmosphere both inside and outside the stadium though was dead, even walking towards the ground before the game it felt really flat for whatever reason, and that was also apparent inside CR before kick-off.

We just lacked any sort of cutting edge really offensively. Had the odd good moment but they were few and far between really. Jerome though had a great opportunity at 0-0 which he should've buried, but he smashed over the bar. Mbokani certainly made an impact off the bench, and I'd like to see him given a start against Newcastle game in a couple of weeks. Gave us so much more energy in the final third, and was a real threat in and around the 18 yard box, particularly in the air. He linked up very well with Hoolahan as well, whereas Jerome often looked isolated, and can be wasteful in front of the goal as well. Our midfield as well was lifeless in terms of movement off the ball. The back four would often pick up the ball and be forced to go backwards because there was just nothing on.

In terms of individual performances, I thought that Russell Martin was our best player. Made some crucial challenges and blocks and was great in the air today as well. Ruddy also pulled off a couple of great saves, although did nearly make an enormous blunder when he nearly gifted the ball to Vardy. Redmond and Mbokani both made a difference off the bench, and I also thought Tettey was decent. Brady and Jarvis didn't really have the same effect that they've had in recent games, same with Hoolahan. For Leicester, Vardy was certainly the stand-out player, I also thought that Morgan and Drinkwater were excellent, and Schmeichel made an incredible save to deny Mbokani as well.

Didn't get a clear view of the foul that lead to the penalty, but it did look like Bassong kicked Vardy's leg. We also had a big penalty decision tu

We also had a big penalty decision turned down, when Bassong(?) was hauled down off the ball. I didn't really get a decent view and but from what from what I did see I would label it as 'seen them given'.

Anyway, think we have to put that down to a bad day at the office. Hopefully we'll vastly improve for the game against Newcastle in a couple of weeks, which considering their form you would hope we could sneak a win.

I thought he had his worst game in a long time, particularly the first half where he made several big mistakes and looked very nervous.

Leicester showed us a way forward.    The combined our energy & commitment with better defenders, and importantly pace and have done so with relatively unknown players.   Its where we should be aiming for over the next couple of windows.

I though Tettey was ok;   but simply over run with the rest of our midfield not contributing enough to the defensive effort - wes, howson, jarvis and dorrans all having poor games - that a 4 man midfield over ran our 5 man version was a testament to an impressive leicester well organised by the tinkerman.

Once we got one goal I think they adjusted to our get crosses in approach well,  cutting out the crosses at source and an equaliser never looked likely.

I think we contributed to our own downfall a little - Brady was v poor at left back showing he wants to attack and his def capability is found wanting;   likewise they exploited whittakers lack of pace on the right - he didnt play badly but the exploited his vulnerability.     Add in losing the ball cheaply by howson (both goals) dorrans and wes it was a day we simply lost to the better team.

We learn and move on;  I dont think howson wide right offered enough def cover to justify start there ahead of redmond;  it feels like a mid 3 from wes, dorrans, howson & tettey (rather than all 4)  Jonny is far more effective when central. so Dorrans likely to miss out but their performances have been similar and consistent - just not sure we need both in the side;  neither can do either of the tettey or wes role so one doesnt play for me.   Add in 2 from  brady,jarvis or redmond for me should be the home model;

A win every 4 games should get us enough points to stay up;   and its not all doom and gloom and we have two weeks to regroup and accelerate Mulumbus recovery.   Redmond showed class and Mbokani showed his is learning; Olsson back in and brady forward and it looks better;  Mbokani still remains off a starting place for me.    Lafferty showed why he will be a fringe player.

I think we are all waiting and hoping that Mulumbu gets fit quickly and becomes available for selection. I do think that Tettey struggles at times and the amount of bookings he receives reflects that.

I do not believe Howson should play on the right and maybe is facing the axe as he was poor on Saturday and got caught with ball which led to their second goal. I do like Howson but with a big enough squad, fitness allowing I think Redmond must start every game. Many talk about his worth in the future and how talented he is and I don't want to lose him because he isn't getting starts.

We looked so much more balanced and dominant in the second period when he was on and on any other day the score could have been 6-4 to us so I wasn't too upset that we lost. I just hope the lessons learnt will stick. As much as AN gets deserved praise, I prefer it we he plays ii simple and doesn't try to be clever with his formations.

The fact is that Leicester played exactly the way Neill has always said he wants us to play; fast, hard and high pressing with fluid passing.   If this match enables Neill to say to his players that this is what he wants from them then, it could be a milestone going forward.  They will certainly know how effective it is and how hard it is to play against.
