The Gary Hooper Thread

Saw him linked with Hull a couple of days ago. He's been linked with practically every side in the Championship right now. All of it is crap I imagine as well.

To be honest if Hooper is going to leave then I'd rather we used him to get who we want. Afobe for example is someone we're chasing. Wolves would be a lot more tempted by an offer that included Hooper and money than the money by itself. Same applies if we were to look at Austin or even Van Dijk (although I can't see either of those happening).

I find it really strange that Neil doesnt seem to rate Hooper when he would have witnessed first hand him tearing up the SPL, yet he deems Andreu good enough for his squad

I think it's more of a case that Neil doesn't think Hooper fits his style at all, rather than he doesn't rate him.

I think he's got to save face a bit with Andreu because that's his signing. I would guess if he'd had a bit longer with the squad and got used to the calibre of player at the club he wouldn't have gone for Andreu.

The Grabban story has rather distracted from the fact that neither Hooper or Turner were involved in the matchday squad. Both are rumoured to be on their way to Sheffield Wednesday. If were seemingly going to be selling Hooper then personally, now that Celtic have failed to make the Champions League I think we should make a bid for van Dijk - cash plus Hooper.

I would really hope that we're not simply loaning Hooper out, dont see the point of that. I would also hope were not making a loss, no need to

Sorry but don't think we have any chance of landing him, worth a try but if Arsenal and Southampton are interested it would be difficult for us to attract him here.

Efe Ambrose from Celtic is another idea perhaps, straight swap for Hooper?

Sheffield Wednesday fans are saying that the Hooper deal isnt dead, it is just waiting on Norwich to give the green light. Obviously this will all depend on what we do ourselves regarding strikers. Could be one that goes ahead or falls through on deadline day due to the merrigoround. Could always be resurrected in the emergency loan window I guess, but presumably it would only fall through because we'd failed to bring in a replacement

Hooper looks "fat and lazy", from the mouth of a Wednesday supporter at a wedding in Sheffield a few hours ago.

Thinks Michael Turner is alright.
