Mirror reporting us and Reading interested. Midfielder for Huddersfield. 8 goals in 80 for them. English/Irish international.

If Fer and/or Surman go I would be hoping for a bit better than this tbh. Hasn't he lost his place in their team to Jacob Butterfield?

That's not necessarily a comment on his ability. Bassong lost his place to Russell Martin.

Well he didn't impress much at Boro so I think he might just not be very good, it was a bad injury he had. We were also an 'on the up' Premier League side at the time and he wouldn't have fitted Hughton's 'style'.

More annoyed that we let Martin, Adeyemi and Smith go on frees.

True.

I've just gone and asked a Hudd fan I speak to on another forum about him. Will post his response later on.

Heard so many good things about Norwood! Not sure why he has fallen out of favour, but I don't think that necessarily reflects that he's a poor player. Huddersfield fans were all over him last year, and he's only 23, so I wouldn't mind taking a gamble on him.

I don't get why they have paid Boro £1m+ fee and Adam Clayton to get Butterfield who wasn't exactly all that at Boro last season. Strange one for me.

Just been reading a Huddersfield Town forum (DATM) and the feeling I got was....highly inconsistent player who can be awesome or woeful. Most fans are saying bite their hand off and sell him but most are saying they'd want to put a sell on clause in there because they see him blossoming and becoming a player. Strange to me, but there we go. here is one reasoned comment from one of their posters.

He's one of those frustrating players that most clubs have. Everyone is on the edge of their seat as such, knowing they have the ability, potential yet consistently don't do enough to justify the buzz.

Let's not under rate Norwoods football ability, he has it in abundance, technically gifted, knowledge of the game is also good. But does he delivery it time and time again? No...

If told he can go, then I'm sure he will do well somewhere else for sure. But, I think he will always be the same player, patch form player.

Sounds a bit like Fer or Redmond!

Presumably Norwood and Lafferty know each other very well from Northern Ireland squads?

Wow, this is a tricky one, can't help but think the club are looking at him as he could be had for a 'bargain', is he really capable of replacing Fer or Surman?!  Nothing wrong with spotting potential players who've been misfiring of course if they come up at a good price.

On a side note, There's something very Pilkington about this... probably as he's coming from huddersfield, the irish link (Northern i know), out of favour at his club, hot and cold performances...   He isn't injury prone is he?! :)

Didn't watch much outside of the premiership last season so really can't comment on how he's been playing.  But definitely looks decent on his day, has had a bit of hype behind him in the past and is a great age.  Interesting to see how his own supporters are reacting too.

What do people think his value is, we talking 1-1.5m as he's in final year of contract?

Apparently Neil dismissed reports linking us with Norwood in his press conference today.

I'd be pleased with this, everytime I've seen Norwood play he's been excellent. Takes a good corner and presuming Fer and Surman leave he's a better passer of the ball than our remaining centre mids.

Fits into the young and hungry mould we had under Lambert too, something we never should have abandoned.
