I get the impression that most people are quite pleased that we've got the old farm derby back, even if it's at the expense of playing in the premier league. I just thought it would be interesting to see what people's preferred scenario is out of these three options...

Love the derby, and have definitely missed it. You just don't get that atmosphere at any other game. Love the Championship too, but for financial reasons....I'd much prefer us both to be in the Premier League, better exposure as well.

I both love & hate the derby. Can't wait for Saturday but despite feeling positive now will be nervous as hell come kick-off. I doubt that we'll ever top the atmosphere at Portman Rd last time but will give it a go.

It's great that we've had a break, makes it more special, a bit like the World Cup.

Yeah love the Derby, don't think i could handle it in the premiership based on our last two seasons though, a defeat to them in this league is just a blip, in the premiership it could be hugely damaging as they would be a team (Out of 5-6) you'd highlight as a potential 3 pointer!

Gotta say, i love the championship.

Had to vote for us Premier League and them Championship, but only because there was no option for us to be in the Premier League and them to be liquidated.

Bit mixed about it really. You cannot beat the atmosphere whatever league so from that angle pleased it's back. Quite like the thought of them wallowing and us in the Prem though!

That I don't get at all. I remember what it was like thinking Norwich was on the brink and I wouldn't wish that on anybody. Besides, there'd be nobody to take the mickey out of.

When we dropped to League One i didn't actually feel that there was much mocking made from south of the border actually, I live a few miles from the border so there's a strong mix of ipswich fans around.  I may have been too devastated to notice it - But in hindsight i can't think of any ipswich supporter who tried to wind me up, in fact they were quite considerate and commented on how we had serious problems, all quite happy to wind me up if we lost against them though.

And so i kinda agree with what you've said POJ, when Ipswich had problems before i really felt for all the businesses who struggled as they weren't paid fully for the work they had done for the club previously. Wouldn't wish that on anyone, even if they were supporting our rivals.

I would never want Ipswich to disappear, but i do like to see them fall on their faces from time to time. ;)

I think it's great that Sky wanted to show the derby though, hope we put on a show.

Wouldn't want them to go bankrupt but I'd love to seem them lose Mick McCarthy to Palace and then suffer a couple of years in League One, with us thumping them twice to help them on their way down as we get promoted as champions.

I was being a little tongue in cheek about liquidation. I'd love them to drop to League 2/Conference for a while though. Really humble them.

Having supported City for 42 years, I've never seen it as a matter for hatred. An intense rivalry, yes, but not hatred, as that for me is just another form of prejudice. I want to win this one especially, but not out of hatred.

I just enjoy the championship more. It's great for the club having more money in the prem & as an excile great to have more TV games & streams. But I watch more live games when we are in the champ & it's more exciting to be going into a season with aspirations of winning something at the end of the season. Ironic that that would be promotion to the prem I know but there you are :)

I don't really mind having no derby games, but would rather like us to overtake them in the head-to-heads before we never play them again. We seem to have been steadily closing in over more recent years (after some bad ones) but I think they are still a few wins ahead.

For me it's all panto. The are the ugly sisters that you boo but it's no more than that. Great if you work with binners like I do and an easy source of winning when you bet with them on the result!
