Happy to have him signed up for two more years.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I won't fully warm to him but will always support anyone who wears the shirt.

I know that no player is bigger than the club and all, but I think Wes's hissy fit in January was indicative of just how unpopular Hughton's tactics were among many of the squad. I can't blame him for wanting to leave us (and Hughton) to join up with Lambert again. Now he knows he's valued and that we'll be trying to play attractive football, he's happy to eat humble pie and fight for his place in the team – live and let live, I say.

If he had just said he wanted to leave and that was it, no problem what so ever with that. However to call the club what he did, just showed a complete lack of respect and a lack of professionalism. So no problem cheering for him while he's a Norwich player and admit he'll be vital for us this year, but won't fully forgive him or respect him again.

Really surprised by the length of the contract, he is now tied to the club for three seasons so will be 35 when his contract expires. Is said to be one of the fittest players at the club though so doesn't surprise me that those at the club think he can keep on going. If he is here until the end of his deal that will 9 years of service, is surely set to go down as a Norwich legend.

I am prepared to forgive Wes-after all he has done for us- but part of me-will not forget his remarks.

His remarks all spiralled from what Kate Riley stated on twitter, that he used the f and s words in relation to Norwich.   She never actually explained as to what context it was made yet we're lambasting him for it as it's gone from person to person and it's somehow came out the other end that he specifically said 'Norwich City are f'ing s___'.

He could have used the words used to refer to the management at the time, who i'd agree with, or the situation that he's in that he wasn't allowed to leave and he wanted to be playing.  I can't believe he'd label the whole club like that, no matter how much Kate would like us to beleive.

Or was there a more concrete witness confirming what was said? If so i missed it.

I don't really want to use bad language here, but probably necessary in this instance, thought it was "f*cking sh*thouse club"?

All will be forgiven if he gets us back up.

I think this is really super news. Wes can easily be forgiven for seemingly not hitting off with our former management team.

That was how one or more national newspapers reported it I believe, the bird on twitter was too polite to say the actual words - but Wes said it in front of a group of reporters not just one.

He should really have been fined and forced to apologise at the time, mishandled not only by Wes but also the club. Never really know what goes on behind the scenes though, he was unhappy then and is happy now, that's all that really matters.

That's also the exact one I remember seeing. Can't for the life of me remember where though. Thought that was the generally accepted version of events though.

At the time i followed it quite keenly and kept watching on Kate's twitter feed to see what was exactly said, the original comment and her reply can be seen here:-

Not sure where the 'house' was added and that it was directed at the club and not how he was feeling, or in relation to the situation/management etc.  I was under the impression at the time that she was interviewing Snodgrass and Wes went past and made the comment in reply to a question she asked off mic.

I thought it went something like:

KR - What do you make of your current situation?

WH - F*cking Sh*thouse.

At the end of the day he's coming towards the end of his career and he just wanted to play football. Hughton wouldn't play him and wouldn't let him leave, it was just frustration.

Delighted he's staying.

Always loved Wes, my favourite player for some years now, but THAT incident let him down. Even worse was his failure to celebrate when he scored against Villa. He came over to applaud the fans at the end, so I wasn't aware that there was an issue, but when I saw the incident on Sky later I was just furious with him!

I hope he does well this season, as I desperately want my faith in him to be restored.

Great news, top player and I hope he repays the faith with some vintage performances this year, can't wait.

I'm not bothered about his alleged comments or infamous celebration personally, he was clearly frustrated and angry at the manager at the time, with good reason. I'm not really sure why supporters took it so personally, especially the celebration as he made the effort to come clap the travelling fans at the end of the game.

We all say silly things when we're frustrated. Forgive and forget.

Truth be told, it's nice to see a player cut up emotionally when left out of the squad, i know some call it sulking, but i feel he was unfairly shut out.

Very pleased about the extension and his full-on commitment in the Pre-season. Well done to Adams for managing this.
