Seeing reports that we have done a deal for Borja Sainz, a 22 year old Spanish right winger, from Turkish side Giresunspor.

Aren't we making sure that he is injured like Jarvis and Byram, who West Ham sold to us?

Reading that we're not going to be having a CDM breaking up opposition attacks and neither will we have a number 10 type creative midfielder feeding the striker.
It's along the lines of Klopp saying that a decent organised press is better than any creative midfielder.

Personally, I'm not sure how that works when you've got most of the possession but what do I know?

seems a bit strange number 9, but there again, as I'm really getting the years in, most things seem a bit strange to me

If that means we are not going to play a ridiculous (and leaky) diamond formation but a solid 4-4-2 with two strikers, so be it. It looks as if we have signed enough wingers to dispense with central midfielders altogether. Heaven help us if we do - League One here we come.

It's a Klopp thing apparently, counter pressing more important than creative midfielder.
Can't see it working against much of the Championship fodder who will be happy to let us have the ball and sit back in a low block.
It's a bit different playing against Premier League teams.

So he has been told by the manager that he cannot expect to be first choice right back and that he is not going to get a huge amount of game time. With the massive number of wingers we have on the books, he won't get a game as a wing-back either. Is there any other way to read this?

Bali Mumba in talks to return to Plymouth permanently.

Have to admit, didn't see that coming. Especially as we are trying to offload Max.
Realistically, we'll sell anyone if the fee gets to the right level. Especially for a player the manager doesn't see starting at least one game every week.

Plus you can only sell a player that someone else wants to buy. So it might be indicative that we aren't yet confident of any other outgoing business reaching the level we hope for and so we'll take a bit of cash off Plymouth while it's on the table just incase we're not getting cash from elsewhere.

Can't disagree with any of that, but what kind of message does that send to the Academy players/U23s?

I think most academy players will realise the reality of that the situation, in that not every single player will end up in our first team. Am pretty sure, also, that Bali had some say in this.
Bali was successful there last season, got promoted, won young player of the year & played lots.
Why wouldn't he want to move.
I can't understand the logic of selling a player who appears to have so much potential for a tiny amount to a direct rival.
I've no ideas how long his contract was with us but the logic of this worries me.

Maybe he has realised his level. Maybe we have too.
