Disappointment is the main emotion after that. Fair play to Lee Clark and Birmingham, who came here with a game plan and executed it perfectly in the first half. Thought 2-0 flattered them a little bit going into half time, as they didn't really create too much going forward, but can't argue with them going into break with the lead. We were dreadful first half, yet again. Well I say that, for the first 5 or 10 minutes we pretty much dominated it, and I was thinking that we'd go on at win it easily, but we gradually faded out and after Birmingham opened the scoring we looked lost, and yet again left it all to do in the second half. Second half was much better. Great first time finish from Jerome to get us back in the game, and then a superb looping header to get us level. At that point I thought were going to do what we did against Cardiff, and end up winning comfortably, but once again we progressively offered less and less of an attacking threat, and didn't offer as much of late charge as I thought we would. So in the end, it was disappointing that we not only put in such a poor performance in the first half, but that once we did get back into the game we didn't really go all out for the win like I expected us to.

(4/10) Cameron Jerome was excellent yet again. £1.5m looks like an absolute bargain. He won every header and worked ridiculously hard. He's physical presence and he took his two goals very well. That's now 4 goals in 2 games, and if he can keep up this form he could easily get 20, 25 plus goals. Nathan Redmond as well was absolutely fantastic. Got a lot of stick in the first few games of the season, but he has definitely picked up recently. He was brilliant in the second half against Cardiff, but this time he was superb for the 90 minutes. He had the Birmingham left back in his pocket for the whole game, and his delivery does seem to be improving slowly. He even managed to get another assist. He was unfortunate as well in the second half when his left footed effort went just wide. Russell Martin impressed me today. Felt a little bit sorry for Whittaker that he has been removed from the starting XI, when he hasn't really done anything wrong, but I thought Martin was excellent today. He got forward really well, particularly in the second half and obviously got the assist for Jerome's first goal. He was also solid defensively, and is showing that he's a much better right back than he is centre back. Josh Murphy was one of the main reasons why we were so much better in the second half. As soon as he came on he got at their right back Spector, and more often than not he'd beat him easily. He added a lot of energy at the start of the second half, was very sensible on the ball, and he didn't try and do any unnecessary skill unlike Wes. He clearly tired as the game went on, but he certainly had a telling impact on the game. Michael Turner continued a solid start to the season. Clayton Donaldson was mainly battling with Hooiveld, so Turner didn't have loads to do. But what he did he did well. Won a lot headers as usual, and in general did his job well. There's not a lot to say about the rest of the squad. Hoolahan was terrible. I just don't know why we play him on the wing as he has no impact there. He gave the ball away when he got it, and was obviously taken off at half time. Hooiveld was pretty poor. Donaldson was very good and strong against him, but he gave him far too much space, and just in general looked a bit out of place. Grabban was ok. Good link up play but we're not seeing any real goal threat from him, which we did see in the opening games. Tettey was no-where near as good as usual. He wasn't exactly bad but he didn't really control the midfield as we've seen him do in most games this season. Johnson was alright, but nothing more. Started the game well but gradually got worse for me, and his place might well be in danger. If Odjidja-Ofoe or O'Neil, or even Howson if he's fit enough, play well in the cup in the week then I can see them coming in for Johnson, as he's been pretty unspectacular for a few games now. I thought Olsson played well though today. Solid at the back, and even though he was as prominent going forward as usual, he combined well with Murphy in the second half. And despite the spin on the ball after it took a deflection, Ruddy should've stopped Reilly's shot. We can forgive him though because of how brilliant he has been not only this season, but in his whole Norwich career. He also made a very good save from Donaldson in the second half to make up for it.
I have to say as well, I thought we had a blatant penalty decision given against us. I can't remember who shot but it clearly hit Jonathan Grounds on the arm. I haven't seen it back but it looked like a clear handball and penalty from where I sit. For Birmingham I thought Clayton Donaldson was excellent, strong, quick and did a brilliant job at holding the ball up. Demairi Gray annoyed me by celebrating right in front of me, and was staring pretty much straight at me. That's just my problem though

He wasn't as good as I thought he'd be after seeing what he could do against Leeds last week. But he took his goal very well, and was very composed for someone of his age.
We can't keep performing so poorly in the first half though. If we continue to go into half time behind then eventually it's going to cost us. We need to start performing from the off in games. To be fair we did that for the opening minutes today, but gradually faded out and lost any attacking threat completely once Birmingham took the lead. Shrewsbury in the cup in the week, and hopefully we'll see quite a few changes, and see some of the new boys such as Odjidja-Ofoe, McGrandles and Miquel, as well as possibly Howson and Hooper. We then have Blackpool away, who are second bottom. It should be a routine win, but as proven today it's never that simple. I'm hoping we'll switch back to 4-2-3-1 for then, with Wes in the middle, as 4-4-2 doesn't seem to be working.
Still, another point. It keeps us in 2nd, and continues our unbeaten run. We also demonstrated another great display of character by coming from 2 goals down to get a point. Despite that it still feels like 2 points dropped, but we've averaged better than 2 points a game so far, so we can't really complain.
