Todays result is massively important for more than just beating our local rivals. I feel that this result could turn out to be a real early watershed in our season.

We have won three games in a row, we have won away from home, we have a player who is joint top scorer in the division. Three things that were massively wrong with Norwich City last season, that are showing good, early signs of improvement.

If you want to see the flipside of this I suggest you trot over to TWTD, and enjoy our blue friends' misery. As an aside I see they were condemning their own fans for singing homophobic songs about Justin.

Agree Gaz, though really can't be bothered to make the Hughtons comparison, I feel that has been done to death. Different manager, different team, different situation and priorities.

Watching the whole game (which I rarely get to do these days sadly, having to make do with highlights for the most part),I thought it was terrific to see the way we're going forwards. The one downside I could see was that there were a number of occasions where a player was bombing it up the wing with the ball and there was no support going into the box or anyone in the box to capitalise on a rebound from a shot. But, as Morty said, I think there's still a few demons being exorcised and that will come. Can't cite specific moments, but I just know I was screaming at the TV for players to get up there in support on several occasions.

100% agree Morty, I think momentum can't be underestimated in any league, but especially in the Championship. If we can get that win against Bournemouth, then we are really starting to role. Players look like they are enjoying it, the football is free-flowing and the manager looks to be willing to change things.

Arguably the toughest games are around the corner, but as mentioned above, beating Bournemouth would be a biggie. Having that away win really sets the momentum nicely and hopefully we get a good win against Crawley with no damage to the team.

Then it's on to Bournemouth and Cardiff. We'll know much more after those two games

The other way of looking at it is the teams we have played have done well,   between their 9 games they have only lost 2 between the 4 of them and three of them sit in the top 10.   Watford and blackburn have only lost to us,  while wolves have beaten all three promoted teams.

That suggetss we have had a reasonable tough start to the season and in gaining 9 points with just 2 conceded goals (facing 3/4 of the leagues highest rated strikers in doing so in deeney, vydra, ,mcgoldrick and rhodes)  things have could not have gone better,  esp since moving away from the diamond so promptly.

No need to be over confident,  but every reason to believe we can build in an good start.

Yes, lets take it step by step. I'll be much happier when the window closes although I'm still expecting at least one more exciting signing and don;t really see any high profile departures. Redders seems happy, Olsson and Hooper could go, but to be honest I'm not sure either would be particularly disastrous, particularlly Hooper who would struggle to get in to the current system but would play well off Jerome.

Its a long tough season and there will be highs and lows along the way but the start is encouraging.

The momentum off the pitch with the squad enhancement is equally encouraging.  We have let go of most players who underperformed, didn't want to be here, or both, and have brought in recognised quality.  We also have quality to return to the side once injuries are resolved - am excited about Howson in this league - and genuine competition for places in most positions.  So, and I have to say it's against my typically glass half empty expectations, I am quietly confident about a top six finish.

I always feel that winning 3 in a row is a key achievement, and this is no exception. If we win at home against Bournemouth, and it is an if, we could well be top of the table. Not bad for a 'novice manager', as some have said.

It's going bloody well and I'm confident of another win next week. BUT. There is gonna be a game at some point where we will lose, probably unexpectedly. We'll probably play terribly as well, it's football, that's what happens. It is our job (all of us) to not over react as some are a little prone to and instead just shrug and go again the following weekend.

We are in a very strong position here. Not only is our squad considerably better than the majority of the league, but the good feeling is back at the club, the players look like they're enjoying themselves and everything is set up for us to do well. I certainly wouldn't put money against us finishing in the top two. The most important thing now for us as fans, is not to panic when a few results don't go our way. Keep behind the lads and I am super confident that our visit in this league will be brief.

Well said splutcho! Too many fans see everything through the latest result, whether it was losing last year or beating Ipswich yesterday. The long-term picture doesn't exist for some, just the last result. Things look good at the moment, but there will be setbacks. We need to handle them, not panic.
