Loan Market options?

It seems as though there are less gems being unearthed from League 1 and the smaller championship sides of late, specifically in the creative midfield positions.

With us having a bit of cash to spend, and (in my opinion) a need for one more creative/attacking midfielder following the likely departures of Fer and Surman, I wonder if it would be worth looking to the prem, and looking at a season-long loan (with a no-recall clause) for a young, fringe-player instead?

I appreciate loans can be hit and miss, but a young player, with something to prove, knowing where he is going to play for a whole season, might actually be less of a gamble than a £2-3m signing from the lower Champs?

Bamford, Powell, Chalobah, Kane, Keane, Wilson to name a few

Obviously a loan signing of repute and talent will cost us a couple of million for the season, but I do wonder if it isn't actually a less risky strategy, seeing as we do have the core of a strong squad.

Chalobah would be a good signing if the rumours about Fer and Surman end up coming to fruition.

James Wilson & Tom Lawrence of Manchester United could be handy additions.

Didn't Kane play again yesterday? Unlikely to be loaned out I suspect.

Interesting isn't it now he struggled in his short time with us...

Kind if takes me full circle on the Redmond debate! If you can just give them time and support, look what can happen!

Chalobah would be a great signing, one of the few Chelsea youth players they haven't yet ruined.

Karim Rekik of Manchester City would be a great year-long loan signing. Might even sign for us permanently if we did get promoted. However, there are still plenty of lower Prem clubs who have one or two gaps for loan signings from the big fish, and I'd be surprised if people like Rekik, Chalobah, Gnabry etc. didn't find Prem clubs who'd be happy to take them for a year.

Bamford is off to Boro, Chabolah is most likely off to Burnely (although Palace were interested before Pulis left) and Rekik is going back to Holland.

I would love Zelalem to come in as cover for Hoolahan, incredible young talent, can't see Arsenal loaning him out though as they are moving away from that route for their top young talent players.

I often wondered if he did really struggle at us or if he never really got a chance in the first place. He played that game against West Ham, looked lively and then missed a bit of a sitter. After that he got a moderately bad injury that put him out for 3-4 months so he went back. I didn't think he failed on ability, more he failed because of injury ruining his chances of a second go at trying to play well for us.

Zelalem would be a class loan signing.

Would be worth a cheeky phone all from Adams to Wenger!

Following the FA youth cup win it would be interesting to know if NA is thought of by other clubs as a skilled coach of young players...that might help sway a few young loan players into the club

The last really good youngster we had on loan must have been Kyle Naughton?

Brendan Rodgers seems to like him, any Liverpool players worth taking?

The injury certainly didn't help, but that sitter against West Ham cost him the chance of a successful start and the moaners were on his back pretty quickly

Exactly, 1 game! If we judged all strikers by their debuts, Van Wolfswinkel would have a statue, El Hadji Diouf would be winning the ballon d'or and Ali Dia would have literally been put down!

I always thought the way he was treated was appalling. I just don't understand some of our fans.

It would actually be rather interesting to see how he would fit into our fluid '3 -up -top' system that Grabban eluded to recently.

Can't see Spurs letting him go though.
