"Bogey" Teams

"We never beat Crystal Palace"

"We never win at Molineux"

etc etc

Anyone have any idea how these happen? Is it just coincidence? If you flip a coin ten times, sometimes it'll end up stacked on one side or the other?

Bearing in mind these things traverse through different players and squads, could it be that before these games turn up, us fans and the media plant a little seed in their head about it?

Or are these just a myth? Do we tend to remember all the times we lose and pass over the wins as a blip in the cycle?

I really don't know what causes it to be perfectly honest, but every single team seems to have a team or two they just can't figure out. I think it begins with a couple of losses based on the fact the other team was better or got lucky on the day. However now we are in the age of statistics, before every game we get pelted with our form against teams. So I definitely think it becomes phycological.

On a similar note, I would love to know our win/lose/draw stats when we wear our away kit. I'm sure we lose a lot more than we win! Maybe statistically that's more likely as we only use it away from home, but I still think we are rubbish in an away kit, even if it's as nice as the new one.
