Will leave this in the main section for a while, and eventually get it moved to the welcome section. Just a wee thread to help people become aware of the many excellent features of this forum.

My first tip is the ignore function. You can ignore any user, simply configure it in your settings, under "manage ignore prefs"  See the attached pic to see where.

Anyone else feel free to share any bits and pieces that could be of use to people not used to this kind of forum.

Morty - Do you know if it's smart enough to ignore any posts that user has been quoted in as well? It would be useful when the inevitable 'who can pi$$ higher up the wall' competitions start.

Did somebody say something?

Lol ;)

Sorry, I haven't played about with it so can't tell you. What I can tell you is that there won't be any of that nonsense here though.

'View New Content' button at the top right enables you to easily catch up on whats been posted most recently across all sub forums - saves trawling through different sections when wanting an overall view of discussions.

If you look on the tab above you'll see "Chat" which is a proper old school chatroom. Not used much yet, apart from people popping in to have a look, but a good feature. Handy to stop clogging up the forums with personal chit-chat, you can just take it there and yabber till your hearts content.

You can pop it out into a seperate window so you can browse the forums at the same time, theres a button to the right of the button with a bell on it, to do this, it looks like two small windows on it.

If you remain inactive in there for 5 minutes it will turf you out.

I love the idea that a forum can 'turf' someone out, Vinny Jones style :)

Chat is quite good actually, noticed that once you load it up it shows you if any activity appears on the tab while you browse the forum(s).

I also like the little arrow that appears on topics, you press that and it gives you a preview of the latest posts.

It has an intelligent engine behind it, that can ascertain if your shoes are casual or not, and deal with you accordingly ;)

I'm probably being a bit thick here but is the "away fans" section intended to attract posts from opposition fans coming to CR? If so how do you intend to promote it?

Is it worth asking contributions from opposition fans for upcoming away games - I'd be interested to hear how Wolves fans rate their chances.

Is there any mileage in this or would it attract too many idiots and cause headaches for the moderators?

I would like to think that if this site gets the success it deserves, it will become the "go to" site for people, and will essentiallty promote itself.

And away fans are extremely welcome, as long as they stick within the same guidelines that the rest of us do.

I hope it does attract other fans, I don't know much about teams like Rotherham & Brentford or how others have fared in pre-season and transfer market. Twitter has limited info & I can't be bothered to look for other reasonable fans sites.

Really I guess it does actually need a bit of promotion, and someone from here seeking out the best opposition sites, and going there and inviting them to post here.

I have quite a few FL followers on twitter - will post an invite & see what happens. Perhaps others could do the same.
