DW: “In this period of good results, we have had setbacks. But we have bounced back like after Leeds, Boro and Leicester. This squad showed this against Ipswich at home. This squad takes challenges on board and show what they are capable of.”
DW on Jon Rowe: “He worked very hard, so credit to him throughout his rehab. The medical team have helped bring him back quicker than expected. But whenever he will be back we can’t expect him to be on his level before (will take time).” Rowe trained with the squad today.
DW on fresh look to the squad: “This is possible. Not due to performance but freshness. We need to keep the energy level of the squad on the highest level. But we have the same players available as Saturday.”
DW: “The games start to get bigger when you play for something. There are not so many games or points to collect left. We need to get the balance right and prepare well.”
DW on quick turnaround: “It’s a challenge for everyone. You’ve seen our team sheet in recent weeks, we have a small squad and are missing lots of players. The decision in the winter was to go in with a smaller squad, but the players have dealt with this well.”
DW on mood after
#ITFC result: “It’s an environment that’s enjoyable to be in. We built this, especially the players over recent months. Saturday and this game, the performance, and result against your biggest rival. Lots of passion and intensity we wanted to deliver.”
DW: “This was on another planet what I experienced on Saturday. Let’s hope we can have more moments like that coming up. This was outstanding and it was not because of the
#ITFC supporters.”
On the atmosphere Saturday... "There were more or less the same people in the stadium as who will be there when we face Bristol, so let's produce it again. You've seen what kind of strong influence it has on the team."
On the squad in general... "Leicester was a poor performance; we didn't hit our level and five days later we have shown what we can do. "This is a group that is super tight together, who takes challenges on board and likes to show what they are capable of."
DW on
#SWFC: “I’m super confident about tomorrow. On Sunday morning, I went into the canteen and spoke to two senior pros. They said now we need to backup what we done against Ipswich. This is a great mindset.”
On Danny Röhl and Sheffield Wednesday... "I met him once in a hotel for a coffee a few years ago; he was interested in one of my players and we have spoken lots about English football. "Everyone who judges them on the league table is making a major mistake, he has done a great job with them. They have speed, technicality, they are aggressive and play decent football."
#NCFC support at #SWFC around the 2k mark, according to DW (Me included, though I face a late fitness test)
On Hillsborough... "Everyone knows about Hillsborough and the atmosphere there, even in Germany. I played my first game of football against Sheffield Wednesday, so I have good memories with them."
