I think I saw Nunez is injured? Shame if so, as he really makes us tick.

Am hoping this will be my first game of the season, chopper due in 3 hours, and weather marginal ( it's like winter here) and I am going to Bronnoysund, which is an absolute arsehole to get home from :D

Well. That was shit.
It was. Worrying I'd say too. Sargent was up for it, likewise Darling and we did dominate in periods of the game. So many stray passes. And the formation again didn't help the midfield. Boro could and should have won by more.

I'm not pressing the panic button just yet, we have a lot of new players in there.

Midfield was awful yesterday. I am sure Wright and Topic are decent players but were very poor. There seems to be no defensive coaching once again. Kenny looked good because all around him were crap. Surely McConville is a better bet than Medic or Cordoba- even Duffy is!!!

Yeah, we lost the midfield at times yesterday. Outfought and outnumbered. Some very poor decisions too in possession. I'm not panicking yet either but am worried that it needs to click sooner rather than later. Pre season optimism of what seemed a great transfer window is watering. But got to give this team 10 games (including cup matches).

10 matches seems fair to see any improvement. How long do we give Manning though? His post match excuses have been lame and his previous record is average at best! I will judge him at Xmas when we will need to be in top half challenging for play offs. A bit like our governments each seems even more pathetic than the previous one!

we are saying that the players must be given time to settle in, but what about players such as Wright, Shwartsau? etc, they were here last season. I think they should be feeling a bit guilty, that an an old man, no pre season back from an operation, no fitness, should come in and shame them. What about Crnac, surely he's had long enough to be able to slot in, the lesser spotted Jurasec, and Krisgarden is not what it says on the box, although, to give him his due, he is a new arrival

Crnac, Schwartau, Jurasek not fancied/ not good enough?? What a woeful first transfer window for Krapper.
I see Tzolis is tearing it up in CL for Bruges and tipped for PL again and we couldn't even use him. Amazing!
In retrospect Webber looking good

Some interesting thoughts Gerry. Wright has struggled this season. Captain in pre- season at times but I think he's been left far more unprotected than should have been the case because of the set- ups so far by Manning (CBs) leaving him more exposed. I still think there's a player there. Schwartau has not been played much despite now into his second season. But maybe like you I'm underwhelmed so far. Comparing him with Kenny is maybe unfair because McLean has so much experience. So, I'm still hopeful for him. Needs a run in the team. Makes me think back to the small squads of the 70s where you had 13-14 main team players. Even into the 80s. I know it's not easy to compare but you wonder with young players and big squads whether it does them much good?

Jurasek is an odd one. Can't help thinking something is up we don't know about.

I think Kvistgaarden might come good. He looks to have something about him. Again, he seems to to be building up to full fitness!

Jury out for me with Manning. As NWC has stated I will see where we are by Xmas (or nearest weekend to 30th November for me). I expect us to have settled and be pushing at least for the play offs.

Largely agree with what has been said. Far too early to judge much, although what we’ve seen so far hasn’t been pretty. I just hope Manning isn’t as inflexible as he currently appears to be (and my mate from Bristol claimed he was).
What I wouldn’t give for a Lambert who would happily mix it up or a Worthy who would finish the game with 5 strikers if we were chasing a goal
