I'd like to hope we have something to prove maybe? But who knows, it would be just like us to go and win this.

Not really sure who deserves dropping from the other night, as it was a collective disaster, I'm not even sure who got man of the match.

I wonder if we have it in us, from a coaching perspective, to put something out a bit more robust?

On Reyes... "It's never easy, when you're in and playing you get a chance to show it. I think George is a little ahead of him and will play tomorrow."

On Marcelino... "It's important (he's back). It's quality starting or coming on, it makes a huge difference for us. It's good news he's back."

On Forsyth... "He's out for the season. It will be down to him to see how to responds to rehab and when he can train. You never know, we will wait and see. It's difficult for him, he was about to get into the team. This was his season, where he would've got a lot of minutes."

On the squad... "It's the same from Tuesday night. We will have to rotate, it's only been 72 hours. We will see where we have fresh legs. We are in a better place to rotate now, rather than where we were a few weeks ago."

On Tuesday night... "We met the day after the game, that's the time where we can be critical. But after that, it's the next game that matters. You can take 24 hours to get it out of the system, before you prepare for the next game."

JHT: “We accept where we are as a group. But it wouldn’t be right to neglect the brilliant 45 minutes against Sheffield Wednesday or the good moments against Blackburn and Oxford. It’s about getting something out of those performances.”

JHT: “I have to see the bigger picture. I won’t be critical of our third choice goalkeeper, who we had to recall from a loan in January. But I would be critical of Angus Gunn.”

JHT on attacking set-pieces: “When you look at the offensive stats we are up there with some of the best in the league. But we aren’t up there in terms of the output (goals). Is it about putting a different player in a different position? It takes time to develop.”

JHT on Borja Sainz: “He was annoyed the other day like most of the others. It would have made a difference if he scored in a win. But with the result, I don’t think it matters too much. He should have scored against Oxford, it was coming”

JHT on Jacob Sorensen: “I always like it when the fans and media appreciate the players we have. It’s my job as a coach to appreciate them. I think he’s been part of some of our best performances recently, he’s good at controlling the midfield.”

JHT on Bristol City: “They have the belief they can make it (top six). I think they were more dominant (in possession) in the start of the season. I think they’ve been more direct recently and have some good runners upfront.”

JHT on the top six: “Everything we do is about us and how we perform and improve. It’s better to set up some clear targets when you’ve played your system for a while. It’s not the best to put pressure on someone like Vinny (Reyes) recently.”

JHT on the rest of the season: “We have an obligation to put our strongest team out there. That will always be a consideration for us.”

On Angus Gunn contract… “I don’t know how the communication has been. That’s between his agency and Ben (Knapper). It’s about the right time for us to sit down and discuss it. I expect there has been communication between him, his agents and Ben recently.”

You can't argue with anything JHT says can you ? We just need to play well for 90 minutes and get a result

I'd happily debate the Sorenson point with him...
I like Sorenson. I don’t get the hate that some fans give him. Sure, he’ll never be Pirlo, but he’s the type of pro that clubs need that are happy to be around the first team squad and can come in and do a steady job when required.
He’s not a starter but dependable when called on.
The perfect “squad” player

I agree, to a certain extent. But he will never give you more than a 6 out of ten. What even is he? Was he meant to be a DM? He actually had his best season at left back! I will admit the last few games he has been adequate, but largely uninspiring.

He’s a utility player. Never gonna be a world beater in any position, but a decent stand in.
Which is why he’s happy being in and around a mid table championship squad.
We’ll never have the luxury of outstanding back up players.
Sadly, the likes of Sorenson, Onel and Long are our level

First goal I can handle. It was a quick break with players out if position, to me it shows the benefit of getting the ball forward quickly rather than giving teams the opportunity to regroup.
The second goal I blame on Thorup. Cordoba should have cleared it but they’ve clearly been instructed by the manager to persist with playing out from the back (despite the numerous goals we’ve conceded from doing so) so to me that goal rests on the manager.
Without Sarge snd Sainz we create nothing, and if they leave we’ll be closer to relegation than promotion next season unless Knapper can pull a rabbit out of his hat, which on the current showing I’m not too convinced of.
Season is over, time to stop playing the loan players and concentrate on who will be here next season

For me, if you get obsessed with keeping possession, then you become too focused on it. You lose any unpredictability needed to change a game.

Yep. It's like we HAVE to be behind before we show the play we are capable of. Last night was an example. We become attacking and try stuff more. Not that we haven't been fantastic in short spells throughout the season because we have.
Still think there's something there to be hopeful about but the whole project is testing our patience...and makes fans question a lot.

I thought we had some really good spells in the game , unfortunately the defending let us down again. Get one of the proper left backs fit and give Mconville some more game time and see how we finish the season
