On Sargent... "He has had the surgery now. It will be probably eight weeks from the surgery, which was Monday or Tuesday. "Now it's just about rehab and nice and easy getting back in."

On Forsyth... "No surgery required. It will be five or six weeks, he extended something in his knee a little bit."

On Hills... "He is back again training today for the first time, too early for Saturday though."

On Fassnacht..."He picked up a knock to his knee in the game, so he was not in the session today. Hopefully he will be tomorrow."

On McLean... "We have heard back from the FA and it will be one more game ban for him. It’s one more game (he will miss West Brom). He apparently gets suspended for having a booking.”

Gunn and Núñez... "We hope they will both be back for West Brom, but we will have to see."

JHT: “I painted the picture for the players today. I’m not a master in drawing but I did today. I said we cannot be too affected by the emotions. Because we won 4-0 (against Hull),I wasn’t celebrating for 24 hours, I focused on the next game after 10-minutes. This is the same after a loss.”

JHT: “You cannot do what we try to do here overnight. We managed to find that balance (between youth and experience) before the last national break. I cannot expect more from the group at the moment. I will not go at them after the game in Sheffield, it’s not the time. I don't think we played well against Sheffield but I will not be hard on them, it's not the time for that. "It's time for us to stick even more together and support each other. JHT on second goal conceded: “There was a couple of players involved in the situation that could have done better. But leading to that is four or five mistakes and this is the approach we take. You will never hear me blame one player, as it’s part of football. We could see several of the players were at the limit. I see players who try and invest everything, we spoke about Lungi, who wants to play more even if there’s a risk of injury. This makes me positive.”

JHT on George Long: “It’s obvious and George raised his arm this morning and said it’s my mistake. That’s the environment we build here. There’s also loads from a coaching perspective we can do better here. I fully I understand why people would be frustrated.”

JHT on Crnac: “I think what saw again for three or four games leading up to the last break was experience and youth in all areas. At the moment we need that, which is the reason why Ante and others are struggling at the moment. We need to find out what is his best position, is it better for him to sometimes come on as a sub, when the defence is a little bit more tired? "At the moment we don't swim in strikers or attackers so we have to make it work."

JHT on Aboh: “Not an option (to recall him).”

JHT on Borja Sainz POTM: “Obviously, fantastic (month for him). He is trying his best still. Even in Sheffield he showed he can try to turn the game around, but maybe too much. He is showing he can become a leader on the pitch. That’s where he has taken the biggest step.”

On Saturday... "It's going to be a difficult one on Saturday, we have the same team, no new names coming back from injury. "We are trying to build a little bit of positivity around the group, stick together and support each other. JHT on #BristolCity: “I’m a little bit split. We don’t have the relations on the pitch, where we can open up a defensive side. What I see from them is they are a good technical side that want to dominate the ball, they can play some good football when they are on top.”

That was shit.
I was lucky, my stream went to sleep at 80 minutes.
Just not convinced by the Cordoba/Doyle tandem. Sure hope that we don't buy Doyle.
Was really impressed by the passing..Long to Cordoba, to Doyle, to Cordoba, to Long ad infinitum, sometimes the other way round.
one time, I counted at least 10 passes at about 25 metres out, and didn't advance 1 metre, then back to Long and start all over again.
Is this really the new Norwich style?
At the moment, many of that squad today, are not championship standard

It was a poor game, and Bristol took there chances, apart from that neither team inspired much enthusiasm, hopefully when we get players back fit the results will turn in our favour.

Yeah this is 100% about players that are missing, we were playing well before we lost our entire first choice midfield and first choice striker and goalkeeper.

Depressing! Our best 11 is as good as any in the league but without Gunn, Nunez, McLean and especially Sargent we aren't even mid table standard. Not sure JHT knows how to change things. Agree about Doyle at left back and would use him as DM.

The thing is, it has always been this way as long as I have supported, we usually have a decent first 11, but things get a bit ropey after that, and we get badly exposed by injuries, it is almost exactly the same every season. We need to get lucky with injuries to have a good season. That said, I do think we have bought well, and there is quality in the squad, but it needs using sparingly.

That also said, this is a particularly unlucky injury spell, hopefully things will improve after the international break.

Maybe the manager is the problem!!! as there didn’t seem to be a plan of action as how to get back in the game after we conceded??!!
Mark Robins anyone??

Odd decision for them to ditch him, as I think he actually won the last few games? But no, not for me, Thorup has shown us the sort of football we can play when he has the players, so he can stay for now :D

The trouble is, I can well imagine that it's easier to recruit players when you can promise them they're coming in as first choice, but a lot harder to recruit players if they're told they're going to have to fight to become first choice. For a club of our level, maybe that might explain why there seems to be such a big disparity between our first string and second string?

I think, for a long time, it has been about money. Though I would be interested to actually read more about how you build a squad, and keep everyone happy. There are 20 players in the match day squad, so 5 not getting picked, I wonder if it makes things easier now you can name 7 subs?

Traditionally though we have never bought top quality, there is always a trade off or a gamble. A promising youth that lost his way a bit, a player with a suspect injury list, or an absolutely no one we get lucky on (with credit to the scouting, lets remember Pukki, and Sainz on frees) I can't remember the last time we bought a player that another club wanted. I actually think, all things considered, we over achieve.

Yup, and when we started finding players like Pukki and Buendia, I suspect it made other clubs automaticaly take an intrerest in anyone we were after, making it impossible to get them without forking out more on salaries.

I think the one thing that is standing out to me is the money on Crnac... when we've got no backup to an injury prone Sargent.

It seems to me that they may have taken a gamble on Sargent staying fit and we've already seen enough of him to know he's never playing a full season.

I would also add that Sargent hasn't actually been that good this season. He isn't worrying defenders that much. Fortunately, Sainz has been red hot.

I think that Sargent is a classic example of someone who brings a lot to the team, and is very much instrumental in Borjas success this season. Although the sarge is scoring fewer goals, I'd still rather have him in the team, than not.

Yeah Crnac definitely underperforming at the moment, or maybe we're not sure how to get the best out of him yet.
