Remember when the media and the police, and the PM, tried to tell us that this was a Christian, Welsh Choirboy? And that we shouldn't jump to conclusions that there were terrorism links?

The powers that be were obviously fearful of the public backlash if too much was revealed while emotions were still running hot.

I don't have any problem with that intention. The last thing anyone should want is anger at his actions spilling over into anger at anyone that happens to look like him.

The clumsy and ham-fisted messages about 'not jumping to conclusions' etc. go a long way to exacerbating the problem though as it has become more and more jaded incident after incident .

For a Prime Minister, Starmer is hopelessly bad at politics.
They would have known within a matter of hours the motives behind it, to then spend the subsequent weeks labelling all criticism as being far right (and locking people up for social media posts) knowing full well the truth would come out the close he got to trial is stupid in the extreme.
If you want to increase support for the actual far right he couldn’t have gone about it any better than he did

Blaming it all on the imaginary "far right" boogeyman is beyond stupid. A lot of people really aren't falling for that Guardian / BBC bullshit any more.

People with genuine concerns, in this case that they don't want their children stabbed, are not "far right".

No, but people who try to set fire to a hostel containing 200 asylum seekers probably are.
Correct. People who said a few things on Twitter then went to jail for it, not so much.

I read somewhere that Rudakubana's father was a Rwandan warload implicated in the Rawandan massacres of the 90s. He got into Britain as an asylum seeker (why we would want to take known war criminals, I don't know) and his human rights lawyer dealing with his case was no other than Mr. Kier Starmer. If this is true then one can see why the PM is so tetchy about this case as there is a direct link from the Southport baby killer to the Prime Minister.

There's nothing to support that suggestion about being a Rwandan warlord, so I'd suggest that is someone making mischief on an already bad situation.
In fact, reports across different sources suggested the father stopped him going off to school with a knife the week before. You can criticise the father for not reporting that to the authorities, but you can also understand it from a human point of view wanting to protect family. There's nothing to suggest he was radicalised by his own family.
The boy alone is ultimately responsible for his own actions.

I have read that when one of his knives came from Amazon one of his parents signed for it...

It’s not true.

What are the procedures for knife sales on Amazon? Is the exterior of the packaging marked to indicate a knife is inside? Is the recipient informed of this? Is it reasonable to expect the recipient of somebody else's parcel, even a child, to open it to see what's inside?

I have ordered a knife from Amazon. I was asked for photo ID when it was delivered. Yes it was marked as being a knife.
