They say he's on £20, 000 a week. He'll never justify that, and it would mount up over that long contract and for one who seems destined to be forever down the pecking order at City.

This could actually be a very well constructed bit of business, depending on how things pan out.

Idah to Celtic on loan for rest of the season, still on a long contract, if he does well we get a fee, or we get a player back with more confidence in front of goal. Van Hoojimiflip in on loan for the rest of the season, with an option to buy means similar applies, then at the end of the season we can basically make a choice of who we would rather have.

Interesting...

I'm one of those who is glad to see the back of Idah and that long-running saga.

The question now seems to be whether it's a loan or a sale.

I hope the latter, but if it's a loan there should be a small fee, or at least complete wages relief for City.
Is it not usually a loan fee plus all, or a percentage of, the wages and sometimes an option or commitment to buy.
Obviously with FFP these days some clubs loan for a year before buying just to push the purchase into a different accounting period.

Is Petes lad any good? I suspect if he scored lots of goals he wouldn't be coming here for five bob.

He's 6 foot 3, don't know much more about him. Bit younger than Idah I think, so possibly more happy to be third choice striker, while developing. I don't feel that Idah has any more development in him, in his current role here.

Has Adam actually started & played 10 or 15 games in a row? Often players need a run of games to settle and reach their potential.

Seems that there is no buy at end of loan clause in Celtic deal. A bit of a one sided deal. Scottish football is carp but can't see him getting much playing time.

Maybe Van Hoojamiflip is actually a longer term replacement for Barnes? And we'll keep Idah?

Whilst not being totally convinced by Sydney Van H yet as his goal-scoring record is not great, I am pleased about yesterday's events simply because I had given up on Idah quite big time.
Here's hoping he gets goals at Celtic as it should either increase his value (is it set when option to buy price wise?) or he might become a better player for the experience.

Knapper, the silent assassin is gradually trimming the squad of deadwood.
That CDM from Spain would complete a satisfactory window in my view.

Limited changes, saving on wages in time for a new manager before the next Summer window.

Last I saw about the lad from Spain was that it was a non starter as our offer was way below their valuation. Still 10 and a half hours to go though...
