It's been on the tv quite a bit. There's lots of advertising which uses lgbt themes and characters, it's more common than you might imagine.

Urgh.

I totally accept modern society, with its different values. I am not prejudiced against anyone (Apart from those down the A140) and totally accept that everyone is different, and they have a right to live their best life and be happy.

But.....

What kinda annoys me is virtue signalling just for the sake of doing it. You have to ask yourselves have marketing executives suddenly identified that there is a huge lesbian car buying market that is going untapped, or have they just done this to make themselves look a bit hip?

The reality is that it has almost become some kind of social sin to be what, used to be, considered to be normal.

In the originals, it was presented as the doting father with the apparently butter-wouldn't-melt daughter who quietly gets up to all sorts of mischief that her father is oblivious to.

Looking back at the older adverts, they seem to have picked a main actress for this one who looks a lot like the original Nicole, so my theory is that they've made a bit of a twist evolving from the original adverts. There's also a scene in this advert where it looks like a bloke who I presume is supposed to be her father has found what's presumably a love letter from her girlfriend and is remonstrating angrily with her leaving her in tears.

So I think it's a bit of a revisit of the Nicole/Papa relationship, with that relationship breaking down and her embarking on a different relationship, presumably representing how the Clio has evolved with time to meet different needs.
