Apparently admitted it, and has issued an apology.

Bit disappointed in him, firstly it is a disgusting thing to do, but also unprofessional.

We shall see him again on 11th February vs Preston.

Will be interesting to see how we line up without him.

He earns buckets more than £12,000 in 5 weeks. The Club should fine him the rest so that his Salary is effectively NIL for that period.

Good Statement though. He should be Board material for that.

I just hope people are grown up about this, and there is no angry mob bearing flaming torches.

Yes, it is a vile thing to do, but its done now, he has apologised and he will take his punishment.

But when he comes back, we get behind him 100%.

Gutted for him in all honesty, you can see he gets wound up and does his best to control it - but it's that fire that makes him the player he is. Without doubt he's the one who's suffering the most because of this and the annoyance that he allowed it to occur.

Yes spitting is disgusting, But we don't know whats getting done to him, and what's being said throughout the 90 mins to get the entire context of all this. Let alone seen the actual incident.

Only positive is that hopefully this would make clubs less keen on throwing money on the table this window and he returns as a more tuned in effective player. I'm curious how we play without him, to see who steps up as there will be someone.

Similar to Duffy. After his "accident" people were saying they wanted him sacked but he pays his fine ( I'm guessing) and we move on. It's when people do things multiple times that there's an issue.

Duffy has been twice the player since his faux pas - let’s hope Sainz is the sMe
When he comes back!

He knew he was on his last chance I'd imagine. Has repaid the faith the club showed in him.

Nice to see that this forum, at least, is a little more supportive of a player who has been consistently targeted, since the ridiculous red card against Middlesbrough, without much protection from the refs.

He's been subjected to a fair amount of on and off the ball brutality without the red mist descending this season.

The Mepham incident would probably have gone unnoticed if it hadn't been for the player racing over to complain. It certainly isn't apparent from the match video as far as I am aware.

As Morty says, I hope he gets a good reception when he gets back on the pitch

I'm sure we will. After all we once gave a standing ovation to a player who drove pissed to the training ground in his pants! (apparently)

While he's a canary were 100% behind him

Stupid and disgusting thing to do, and a ban is fully deserved. However for me that’s as far as it should go (with maybe a fine from the club). He’s done wrong, been punished, that’s the end of it

I hope so. But we do seem to have a number of self righteous fans. I saw some wanting the book thrown at him before the evidence was even read.

That’s just the usual attention seeking t**ts on social media. Once he returns to the first team nobody will give it a second thought

Exactly. Holt is still a club legend. The same Holt who put his parts on and wanted to leave. Even handed in a transfer request.

Walker. He walked out once yet we had him back.

You have to remember footballers are human and humans generally do at least one dumb thing a day!

Also worth remembering a lot of footballers really aren't too clever...
