Norwich City owner wants Premier League return within five years

Mark Attanasio says he will "feel like I've failed" if Norwich do not get promoted in that time.

Our new owner has fully taken the reins and seeks to have us back in the Premier League in five years. At the current point of time, injuries have exposed a lack of depth in a squad that had initially got off to a good start under new ownership, a new Sporting Director, and a new head coach and at a time when parachute payments from the Premier League have dried up.

How optimistic are people about Attanasio's goal, and why?

I'm fairly optimistic, to be honest. We have managed to get promoted with zero external funding and a bit of luck, so I don't see why we can't again. I think our recruitment is good, and we have decent youth trickling through too. I think the addition of some funds will help us build a bit of depth that we have been sorely missing. I'd like to see a busy January and us going for it this season, because I don't think the league is that strong this year.
