YES! Football is back, I expect you can hardly contain your excitement. We shall rise from the international break like a phoenix from the flames and despatch the Lahndahners with consummate ease.

Probably...

On Knapper... "We had a few meetings in the last couple of weeks, discussed some things. He's seen more or less every training. It's been a good start."

On injuries... "Barnesy is back in training, Adam Forshaw and Gunny are a week away. Grant is two weeks away. Jonny Rowe is a doubt for this week."

On Barnes... "We're very happy to have him back, how good he is in coaching others on the pitch. He has a lot of strengths, we've missed him in the last eight weeks."

On QPR... "Whoever who judges QPR on the table makes a mistake, it's a totally different approach and team since they've changed their manager. They've had two draws and look more organised."

On QPR... "We worked hard against Cardiff and the win gave us a boost. Now we want back-to-back wins. Nobody will underestimate the quality of QPR because of the table or points."

On Idah... "It's good that he's healthy and good that he's scoring. I said to the lads today, whether starting or from the bench, we need to be switched on and leave everything out there."

DW on Hwang Ui-jo and the allegations against him in South Korea - Ben will deal with the situation with him and his representatives. He will be involved on the pitch."

I just watched the presser, struggling whenever I listen to Wagner if I'm honest.
He did speak some sense though, emphasising how QPR have improved since changing their manager, we'll have to give that a try then...

Well. Barring that exquisite pass and finish for the goal, that was absolutely dreadful!
I was about to ask you lot who were there for an explanation of the stats I've read this morning.
I recall Knapper enthusing about possession based football, dominating the ball, yet we gifted Rangers more possession than they've had in any game this season, 62%?

Did we really play a team hanging off the bottom, staring at the abyss, and sit back hoping to catch them on the break?
We had one shot on target ffs!

Ultimately though, we won. And winning builds confidence.

I'm off to Watford on Tuesday night, that will tell us more about our progress.

How was it to watch?
The amount of possession & shots Rangers had, I'm assuming a team which take their chances would turn us over with ease.

Both teams were pretty awful. We did what we needed to to win the game. I saw the possession stats, and to be honest, it didn't feel like they had much more than we did, and most of it was in meaningless areas anyway. Although the game was terrible, it didn't feel like QPR dominated us in any way.

I went yesterday, what a terrible game that was. Style of play is completely wrong and I can't help but feel that if you asked the players about how they're being asked to play they would hate it as much as we hate watching it.

Dreadful game to watch. Especially as it was really cold and wet.

Just about effective enough against a club hanging on the bottom of the League, it's not going to keep Wagner in a job or get us promoted.
Absolutely not. I said before I saw our current malaise as being 80% injuries and 20% Wagner. That is not a static opinion, as players come back from injury those figures shift, and I would need to see improvement.

He just about has the benefit of the doubt from me, for now, but as we see players back, I want to see better football than Saturday.

Which returning players are going to improve the football?
Gibbo, Hanley, Sarge, Gibbs?

Gunn, Hanley and Sargent, I would say. I can't recall who exactly plays left side of the CB's normally, but I think I am right in saying we don't have a left footed CB just now? I saw Batth caught out a bit in that respect.

Sargent will make the biggest difference. We simply do not have another striker that can play the role like he does.

So Wagners whole reason for being rises or falls on one player?
