Well...

Feels like do or die for Wagner, Sunday could be his clapper moment if things don't go well. Blackburn will be relishing this more than we are, a cursory glance at our last few performances will show them how predictable we are, and exactly what they have to do to beat us.

Team wise, God knows. Will Wagner play it safe, and pick the usuals, or will he go out in a blaze of glory and make loads of changes?

Special mention to Sky scheduling for the fixture change, thass a long ole poke for the away fans, buh.

I've got a ticket for this one so looking forward to the day.
Kinda imagining the game will disappoint though ;-)

Even a win will probably not satisfy folk, as it will be seen as "papering over the cracks".

Definitely, Wagners a shit manager with shit tactics, he was that before coming here.
Would he really have got the job here if he wasn't Webber's buddy?

2022 ... Blackburn at home and our head coach is under pressure. 2023 ... Blackburn at home and our head coach is under pressure.
Nearly a year on and very little has changed. Since the start of the last PL season I have personally seen just 7 home wins. I hope I get to see an 8th on Sunday.

David Wagner confirmed that Ben Gibson has suffered a metatarsal stress fracture, ruling him out of the next few weeks of action.

Speaking ahead of the visit of Blackburn Rovers, the head coach spoke about the options available in the squad.
"Everyone is available apart from Ben Gibson, who will be out until Christmas. Everyone else looks fine and healthy from Sunderland.
"The good news is that he doesn't need surgery, but he will be out for a number of weeks and out until around Christmas.
"Grant Hanley will play tonight for the Under-21s, and we will look at him next week. We will not rush him, and we need to be sensible with him. We're looking forward to give him his first minutes tonight."
Wagner also spoke about youngsters Jaden Warner and Kellen Fisher, and how they can provide competition for the senior players in the squad.
"Jaden Warner is a squad member, and played fantastically in the cup. He's in contention for sure.
"I think we have a proper talent at our club here with Kellen Fisher. After Sunderland, everyone now knows this. It was his first league start against one of the best wingers in the league, and that makes his performance even bigger."
On the other returning players, Wagner said: "I'm super confident that Ashley Barnes will be back after the international break. He's on track and will be back after the break, with (Angus) Gunny as well.
"We can’t plan with Jacob Sørensen or put a time frame on when he can be back in training. He will see another consultant about another surgery next week."

Number 9 - Whatever gave you that idea? Appoint in haste, repent at leisure? Another masterstroke from our soon-to-depart (not soon enough) genius?

Well, that was awful. It was like watching a training match. We were rubbish and they were just less rubbish than us.

Nunez 5 / Sara 5 / McLean 6 / Hernandez 4
Rowe 6 / Hwang 5

You know that you are in real trouble when the crowd cannot even raise the enthusiasm to boo realistically. I have seldom seen so many players go into a contested tackle and come away without the ball. Totally Shambolic !!

Sorry for all you fans, especially those that were there. I've got a crapped up leg, no alcohol allowed, so had to sit on the balcony with my lap top and a cup of coffee. what a load of dross, that wasn't a team playing with pride or purpose. My other half wouldn't let me throw my laptop off the balcony though. Is there any movement anywhere, is there really an American on the scene, is there any motivation from anywhere?

The trouble is that you fans have no understanding of the complexities of the professional game. The fact that a lot of you have actually played the game to a decent standard counts for nothing. If we continue to believe in what we are doing and work hard it will all come right in the end (despite all available evidence suggesting the contrary.) All we need is bit of patience (and suffering the kind of dross seen yesterday) and we , the Club hierarchy, will prove that we actually got it right all along. ( I am NOT a mate of Webber's and I have not been paid to write this rubbish i.e. I do not work at the EDP or the Pink'Un)

Duffy is suspended for the Cardiff match. Does this mean we will finally see Danny Batth in a City shirt?
