Well this should bring out a few differing opinions.

A decent servant to the club, he was part of a lot of our success, and I thank him for that and wish him well for the future, I hope his injury problems are behind him now.

BUT...

I think he very much suffered from the fact that we haven't had two good centre backs at the same time very often. He looked good playing with some players, and bad with others. Has only really been our best centre back, for a while, by virtue of the others being bad. On his day could actually play the ball out of defence okay, but really no better overall than, say, a Gary Doherty. Was actually pacier than a lot give him credit for, but I fear his injuries and his age might be catching up with him now.

Carthorse. Well rid.

I’m missing something with the love in for Hanley.
He was shit, prone to mistakes, rugby tackles and spent half his time here injured.
The way he lorded around Carrow Road during the promotion celebration as “club captain” was laughable

Quite a good "in the trenches" defender for us. But Duffy is now the better option as he's emerged as our best defender in that regard but also can be a little bit cuter with the ball.

Hanley's obviously on the decline now but he's had a pretty good career. Are any of our young prospects going to reach those levels?

A decent defender for us, never really good enough for the top flight but then very few of our players ever were. Started to drop off slightly just before he got injured, which was probably the final nail in the coffin for him at this level. Wish him all the best and deserves a good reception if he ever returns

Now been joined by Dowell (on loan).

Are Birmingham the New Saudis with their American money?
