The good;

* As bad as relegation was last season, the Championship has to be the best consolation prize ever. I enjoyed the football immensely yesterday. And with so many odd results in the first 2 rounds, I get the feeling it's going to be an exciting season.

* Kyle Lafferty. "Skinny Grant Holt". Amazing home debut. First name on the team sheet for Tuesday.

* I thought Fer's little 20min cameo was class. At the time, I thought - wow, this guy wants to stay. He's really up for the fight. Unfortunately in retrospect, maybe he was saying goodbye. Shame if it is goodbye. He would completely tear up this league.

The not so good;

* I know many don't, but generally I like goal music. However why has it changed to music best known for seeing people dressed as Barney Rubble hold signs with 180 on it?

* The atmosphere was shocking all game. No idea why.

* After the dross we were served up last season, I can't believe how many people started leaving with 15 to go. Enjoy the win people. Try and see another goal.

If we have to have goal music then i prefer the new music, that samba rubbish has got old, i remember hearing that when i took my daughter age 5 to her first game, she's just finished 3yrs at uni now :(

I agree, the Champs is an exciting league and from my point of view much more enjoyable than the Prem. It's no fun being the whipping boys of the Premier League elite, the novelty of seeing star players week in week out wore off pretty quickly for me as we got thumped most of the time. Going to away games became more of a necessary chore than anything else.

I reckon the atmosphere was poor yesterday because some fans can't get rid of the baggage of the last couple of seasons and have created some pretty poisonous narratives about Neil Adams, the board and some of the players. The sooner that some people get over themselves the better.

I love the idea of football as entertainment rather than some sort of SM ritual, so get your foam pointy hands out, all together now "oi oi oi" ha ha.

The atmosphere was shocking yesterday, very quiet, at points you could hear the players shouting... Lafferty was immense!

To be honest it felt like a pre-season game, perhaps the one we should've had against English league opposition rather than the European teams we played. Hucks said before the game that he was concerned that we hadn't had the opportunity to test ourselves against FL teams in the lead up and I agree.

I also think that it was a massive confidence booster for us, just what we needed.

Yeah, I think we majorly underestimated Wolves last week and I think that is partly due to our poor pre season fixtures. Hopefully we can carry on the momentum to Tues night now, and more importantly, the big game next saturday!

The atmosphere was fiat yesterday but a combination of serving dross for two years leading to a relegation hangover, worry following Wolves and some regulars on holiday may have influenced that.

Decent game though and hopefully if we get more performances like that the atmosphere will increase.

Agreed with all of that TGOT. Atmosphere was very flat but I do think it has to do with all the negativity that infested the stands over the past 18 months. It'll take more than one win to get rid of that, however if we start putting good results together, I imagine the atmosphere will improve. There were some moments throughout where the atmosphere improved, but they were few and far between.

Must admit, not rated Lafferty hugely when i've seen him play for Rangers, but played really well for us, surprisingly well.  Only concern is that he's not a big goal scorer, but if we get them from midfield positions and Grabban and Hooper feed from him i hope we'll get enough.

Being realistic we'll be needing 70-80 goals this season for top 2, if that's our goal.  I just can't see Laff getting double figures, so that's going to shaking the tin quite a bit elsewhere on the field.

Your right, it will improve as we start getting results. The crowd, the team, we are all still a bit edgy: get a few wins under our belt and the sun will come out at Carrow Road.

I don't necessarily disagree that the old music was dated. But I think there are a lot better options out there than 'that song from the darts' (as I, and many others know it as).

I hope it's not a sign of negativity that can't be shaken off. On the plus side, there were some rousing renditions of On the Ball City!

It's a funny one really, but I actually enjoy supporting us a bit more in the football league and it's not just the results. Being a northern exile, I get to go to more actual games away from home which is way better than watching on them dodgy streams when I can't get/ afford a ticket for Etihad or Old Trafford or wherever. The football is more unpredictable and entertaining, there's more games and we get to see more of our own youth players.

That season in League 1 has to be amongst the best i've witnessed as a fan.

I know exactly whet you mean.

Modern football is funny like that. As a Norwich fan, the height of aspiration is to compete in something you have no chance of winning.
